The Case Assessment Conference is the first court event for proceedings commenced in the Family Court of Australia regarding financial issues. It is conducted by a Registrar of the Family Court in the Registrar’s chambers and both parties along with their legal representatives attend the conference. The conference presents a real opportunity for the issues in dispute to be identified and discussed, so that further directions can be made by the Registrar for the further progress of the matter and/or settlement discussions to occur.
