A Conciliation Conference is part of the Court process to try and resolve property matters. It is held at the Court and run by a Registrar who is employed by the Court and is there to assist the parties in coming to a resolution. The parties (and solicitors if they are represented) attend the conference which usually runs for 2-3 hours. Except in exceptional circumstances everything that is said in the Conference is confidential. The Registrar will go through the assets and liabilities and then look at contributions and the future needs of both parties. If an agreement can be reached on the day then Orders can be made by the Registrar by Consent finalising all property matters.
